SORRY, I'M ALREADY SOLD.
Many collectors refer this treatment as "cookies and cream." With multi-colored bakelite items, manufacturers used to throw in whatever they had leftover that day to create unusal and what, today, have become highly collectible pieces. Was this the same with these lucite cookies and cream bags or where they intentionally designed this way? We're not sure. In any event, the effect is amazing and just like with bakelite, making these Wilardy lucite bags highly sought after today.
This bag measures 6" high (or a magnificant 11" counting the handle) x 6" wide x 4" deep. If you look at the photo of the bottom of the bag, last photo below, you can see the unusual shape of the body. The clasp shape is referred to as a tongue. The twisted handle is, we believe, unique to Wilardy, too. Everything about this bag is special.
Rarely do we find them in this shape: No cracks, crazing, chips, odors, clouding, discoloration, rust, tarnish, nothing. The clasp and all hardware work perfectly. Not even any noteable scratches. A prize MINT piece.
Lighting does tricky things, making lines and shadows and marks that aren't there. There are no cracks or clouding. This bag is MINT.
