REMEMBER - NEVER CARRY A BORING PURSE!
Papier Mache by Enid Collins
SORRY, I'M ALREADY SOLD.
One of Enid's rarest designs was her papier mache bags. I believe the papeir mache bags were only made when she sent her production to Puerto Rico in 1966 & 1967. This purse measures 8-1/2" wide x 3-1/2" high (without handle) x 4" deep.
Very near mint condition. These bags are hard to judge as they were intentionally made with color variations on them. The paint is uneven on purpose; it is not worn. Often the handles on these bags were colored to match the paint. This green handle is still in amazing condition with no noticeable loss of color - very rare for these bags. There is no dirt inside; once again intentional color variation. Despite the picture, the mirror is clear, not foggy, with just a little backing wear around the edges. The metal hardware still shines as do the gleaming large rhinestones.
A stellar specimen!
