1950's "Going Shopping" Set

Back in the 50's, no self-respecting lady went shopping without shirtwaist dress, gloves, hat, and matching purse. Even the supermarket required the full regalie. One can only wonder how often this matched set hovered over the tomatoes, canteloupes, and packages of Jello and KoolAid.
A nice size purse, measuring 13-1/2" at the widest x 8-1/2" high (without handle) x 2-3/4" deep. The hat has no size and is labeled "union made" so from the U.S. The purse is unsigned and is a perfect match.
Excellent condition with a small area of missing stitching on the handle. However, these stitches on on the decorative side of the handle, not the edge where the stitching is actually securing the doubled-over vinyl together. The clasp has finish wear on one side (see photo.) There are no stains, odors, or tears. The bottom of the purse has no rubbing wear. This perky set is ready for a visit to today's supermarket to stock up on kiwi, star fruit, bagged salad, and designer yogurt.
