Joseph LaRose designed and sold ladies shoes in Jacksonville, Florida from 1949 to 1999. He custom designed shoes for Marilyn Monroe and Joan Crawford (a somewhat difficult customer.) They were also worn by numerous other movie stars and celebrities, including Jackie Kennedy. After his death, hundreds of thousands of pairs of shoes were discovered in his warehouse. A few exceptional pairs (some with fabulous matching handbags) were sold to Macy's and displayed in their window on Broadway for their 100th anniversary.
These great contrasting-color shoes are black shiny vinyl (not patent) with vivid yellow brick-patterned vinyl wedge heels. The unusual soles are non-slip textured rubber. The size is 6-1/2 M and the heels are about 2-1/2" high.
Excellent Condition. Never worn; came from the warehouse in Jacksonville. There are a couple of teeny areas of yellow color loss on the edges of the heels, possible manufactured this way. Some age discoloratiion on the inside. No scrapes, nicks, stains, or discoloration on the uppers. The insoles are in great condition.
